After a few weeks I finally got the heli airbourne, It has a realy lite feel, but the tail is a prick on this one, been having quite a bit of trouble getting it to hold, but with alot of tinkering it has been sorted, The 770 does'nt appear to enjoy the powerfull velocity tails, smaller 89mm tail blades were required to get a good result, plus had to sort a few other problems. Now that shes sorted
ITS A BLOODY RIPPER, extremely fast and agile, yet really stable, light and poppy, Autos with the SB's allow for massive hang time due to the helis lite weight. 3.3kg is what shes weighed in at ready to fly. THe Redline 53 has no dramas in this machine, with 15 degrees of pitch and nearly 13 on cyclic its a machine that will blow the underpants right off of ya with very little bogging, purely amazing and insane, and way past my abilities. The head allows for it to be fine tuned to suite any pilot preferences, from a stable rappy, to an insane twichy loaded gun that the experts love. Piro rate with the 89s is pretty bloody good, will be alot better with the 95's and cant wait to get the tail 100% and running them again. High Speed forward flight is a breeze and very stable with no bobbing or rolling, she locks in and head for the target, acceleration and climb rates are really impressive, In my belief there is nothing on the market that would beat this heli in a drag race, you blink, yourve missed fast, the only thing that would get it is a FBL 12s electric.
On expert settings the heli can be a handfull and hard to keep locked in, but she will flick, roll and stop quicker than you can think, intermediate settings are great and will do all with the added improvement of a little more stability. beginner settings are still quite quick, so heavier paddles and blades will help.
So far the heli is proving to be a great weapon, but it has its flaws. fuel tank removal is long and painfull, as is the engine. the glow plug is in a long way and can be tricky. The auto bearing has failed on a few from the first run, and recently a starter bearing on the second one in AU has now failed to, along with a brace snapping mid flight. the Tail bell crank bearing has also failed in a couple. Outrage have taken these problems in there stride and imediately rectified the problems and sent new replacement parts, like a german made bearings. Word also says a new frame design to allow easy tank removal couldbe on the way, but I think that might be a while away if its so.
Cheers
